When I was a senior in high school preparing to go off to college, I received a lot of advice. Most of it was quite good.
One thing that I remember hearing often was. The minute you get there, start looking for a church. It will be invaluable.
It was great advice then and it proved true two years ago after I finished college.
From the moment I walked into Buckhead Church two years ago, I was impressed. The music was not just music. It was full out worship. The speaking was not just preaching the Bible, it was practical teaching of the Bible. My hunger for His Word grew by leaps and bounds and I found myself not only learning but being able to apply and recall what I had heard and read.
I remember vividly the first Andy Stanley message that I heard. Destinations. I soaked up that four part series. I purchased it for friends. I listen to it quarterly. It was a life-changer for me.
I have one Sunday left as a regular attender of Buckhead Church. Just as the first series was one I will never forget, I know this last one...The Waiting Room...will be listened to time and time again as well. It couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Last week as I sat and listened to Jeff Henderson speak, I think I was probably nodding my head 95% of the time.
I don't want to tell you everything he said...I would much rather you listen to him say it, but I will say that this week I'm doing a few things.
I'm creating altars of gratitude and realizing that I have quite a few. I'm persistently praying and I'm surrendering because I know that during this time of transition, God is not leaving me...He is LEADING me.

I am praying for you as you allow God to lead you. It is such a blessing to read about your journey. I love you, bloggey buddy!!
Thank you so much for guiding me to The Waiting Room series...I just listened to the first sermon and am taking a break before going back to hear the second...I really needed to hear those words today!
