Cutest niece...EVER

My sister just sent me some photos of my prescious niece. It's amazing how much older she becomes with each passing day. Kids are such a blessing. Thank you, Lord, for blessing our family with Miss Emma Kate!

Have you ever seen a cuter 2 1/2 year old? I didn't think so :)

Happy October!

Unlike most people, I actually enjoy change. Change signifies the start of something new. I love new things! So, I decided that my blog needed to get a little update. More fun gadgets on the side and a background that makes me smile. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy October...Happy Fall!

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah...Boston is my favorite!

Hands down, Boston is my favorite city! Sure, it helped that one of my favorite people in the world lives there and served as a fabulous tour guide, but I LOVED it! Everyhing was better in Boston...even the Starbucks! It really is too bad that in a few weeks it is going flippin freezing because that means I won't be returning until the weather warms up in May. I don't do cold weather.

I was only really in Bean Town for two days, but if you look at all of the things we did, you would think I was there for two weeks. We were on the go from the time I landed. Somehoe I managed to make my way from the airport into town via the T. Friday night we took a mini walking tour of the area and spent most of our time in the North End and near Fenway. The highlight of the night was most definitely the trip to Mike's Pastry for a chocolate chip cannoli and hot chocolate.

I LOVE this picture! I think this is at the precise moment when Sara was telling me "This is my city." She was quite excited that I was in love with the place that she now calls home.

Day 2: Eveybody knows that breakfast is the most imporatnt meal of the day. So, we walked over to Harvard Square for a delicious breakfast at Z Square. We walked off the calorie-laden meal as we ventured to Beacon Hill, Copley Square, Quincey Market, the Boston Garden, Boston Public Library (aka...BPL) and Newbury Street. Next to breakfast, the most important meal is SNACK. Sara made an excellent choice by leading us to Sweet...a fabulous little place that sells cupcakes and only cupcakes. Absolutely delightful! After our little sweet, we did a little more walking and ended up at a market where we got cheese and crackers to eat while watching the boats travel up and down the wharf. We finished off the night with a big group of Sara's friends...cheering the Vanderbilt Comodores to a big win over Auburn. :)

One final picture before I end this post. This one is from my last day in Boston. We made the trek to an open air market in the South End. They had all kinds of great things...jewelry, art, clothes, food :) It was a great way to end the weekend. Here's a picture of me with the best tour guide ever and her roomie...my new friend...Carly. :) Love ya, girls! Can't wait 'til May!

Gettin' my pack on

After almost 6 weeks of waiting....I'm getting on a plane today to go visit my best buddy in Boston! I'm sure Sholcomb is going to have tons of fun things for me to do. Right now, the only thing I know that I'm going to ride the T to meet her :) Can't wait to see you, buddy. More on Boston when I get back next week.

He did it...

When something good happens in my life, I immediately want to pick up the phone to call my friends and family. A few days ago, I was on the receiving end of one of those calls when my friend, Natalie, called to tell me she was engaged. The day she had been waiting for...E Day...had finally arrived.

I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day. No, I take that back....I'm still on cloud nine. You see, Natalie isn't just engaged. She is engaged to Scott.

I can think of so many reasons why Scott is most definitely husband material. The following isn't an exhaustive list, but hopefull you'll begin to get the picture...
  • Spiritual leader
  • Taught me about BBM
  • Always wears a smile
  • Refers to Natalie as "my girl"
  • Dreams big
  • Plays the best air drum ever
  • Forever an optimist
  • Woo
  • Picked out a BEAUTIFUL ring
Love ya, Scotty! Thanks for loving my best friend like only you can!

Cutest couple EVER!!

World's Best Boss

Last Friday afternoon, the office receptionist called to tell me that there was something for me at the front desk. I was a bit perturbed as I wasn't expecting anything and was drowning in work. I wish I had a picture of the expression on my face when I reached the receptionist's desk and I saw the most BEAUTIFUL flowers. I absolutely LOVE flowers, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've received them. A quick look at the card is why this post is titled "World's Best Boss." Granted, it has been a crazy week at work...but where I work, everyone is crazy busy all the time. What a blessing it is to have a boss that appreciates my hard work.

Sweet Home Alabama

There's just something about going home that energizes me. Maybe it's the carefree way of life that comes with being from a town of 4500 people or it could be the sense of love that I feel when I'm there...either way, I love going home!

By far, the highlight of the trip home was my precious niece, Emma Kate. I don't get to see her as much as I'd like, but it seems that each visit makes me love her even more. I don't know how that's possible, but it's the truth. I just can't get enough of her!

EK is 2 1/2 years old and is full of insightful comments. She is in love with her two favorite football teams...the T.R. Miller Tigers (high school) and Alabama. However, she is not in love with any team that wears any form of the color blue. It started out with a distaste for the high school rival, but in her eyes, all blue is bad. Luckily, blue is one of Auburn's colors, so that fits our families' loyalty quite nicely.

Like many girls, she is in love with the cheerleaders and the majorettes. Cheerleaders get to "go high" and majorettes have sparkly suits...what 2 year old wouldn't be in love? Check out the video for a little preview of her great cheering skills. Note the real cheerleader pompoms...no shakers for this kid!

Just a few more pictures for good measure...

I'm pretty much in denial that I used to baby-sit for these girls and now they are old enough to take care of my niece!
